FINNISH LUPUS ASSOCIATION

Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, SLE or Lupus in short, is an autoimmune disease that affects the whole body.

There may be even 5000 people in Finland who have Lupus, but no one knows for sure, because no full record is being kept of the Lupus patients in Finland.

A group of Finnish Lupus patients are now establishing an association to act as a support group and for the benefit of Lupus patients in Finland. The association will do everything to spread Lupus awareness, because Lupus is yet little known in Finland.

Many rarer diseases are often better-known than Lupus.
We are convinced that through this association we will get our voices heard and we will be able to reduce social exclusion of a patient, which often happens.
Lupus affects the whole family and that is why the association will also give support to the people close to a patient by spreading information, experience and guidance.

You are welcome to join our group either as an acting or a supporting member.
